The Grand on State is proud to announce an extraordinary evening featuring two of the most celebrated names in American jazz:

Three-time Grammy Award-winning saxophonist and composer Tom Scott and Grammy Award-winning pianist and composer Roger Kellaway, performing together live for one night only on Saturday, May 23, 2026.

This rare pairing brings a combined legacy of more than 2,000 recordings, four Grammy Awards, and credits spanning from Duke Ellington to Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra to Joni Mitchell, Quincy Jones to Yo-Yo Ma — all in the intimate setting of one of Santa Barbara's most exciting new venues, steps from the Granada Theatre.

Tom Scott

Tom Scott is a renowned composer, arranger, producer, music director, saxophonist, and educator whose 33 solo recordings have earned him 15 Grammy nominations and 3 Grammy Awards. In 2017, he received an Emmy Award nomination for Musical Direction of the Tony Bennett 90th Birthday TV Special on NBC. As a guest artist, Tom's career spans more than 2,000 recordings with artists including Barbra Streisand, Quincy Jones, Thelonious Monk, the Blues Brothers, Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, and Aerosmith. His contributions as a player and arranger include Joni Mitchell's Court and Spark, Steely Dan's Aja and Gaucho, and hit singles including Carole King's "Jazzman," Whitney Houston's "Saving All My Love for You," and soundtracks for Taxi Driver, Toy Story 2, Monsters Inc., and A Star Is Born.

Roger Kellaway

Roger Kellaway is a Grammy Award winner and Academy Award-nominated pianist and composer who has recorded more than 250 albums. He has collaborated with an extraordinary range of artists including Duke Ellington, Elvis Presley, Joni Mitchell, Barbra Streisand, Quincy Jones, and Yo-Yo Ma. His most recognized television work is "Remembering You," the beloved closing theme for the groundbreaking series All in the Family, composed in 1970 and still heard on TV worldwide. Kellaway has written and conducted 29 film scores, including Barbra Streisand's A Star Is Born, earning him an Academy Award nomination. He received a Grammy Award for his work on Eddie Daniels' Memos From Paradise, and the Prix du Jazz Classique — the French "Grammy" — for his CD Heroes, dedicated to Oscar Peterson.
